What is a charter flight?

A charter flight is one that takes place outside the normal schedules, by a hiring arrangement with a particular tour operator. In other words, charter flights are known for transporting holidaymakers to their destinations. So if you've ever scored an amazing all-inclusive deal to Majorca, it's generally courtesy of a charter flight. Most charter flights are filled by tour operators like Thomas Cook because we charter the flight as part of a package deal, which would include accommodation for the entire holiday (usually 7-14 days long).
